David Zimmer
Born in the coal mining and brick manufacturing region of southern Ohio, I was the son of a US Army EOD Veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam and a loving mother of three children. We moved around a lot and finally settled into the Washington D.C. area where I grew up. Scouting started my adventuring life. Many weekends camping, hiking and climbing were enjoyed by my family and friends. Drafting and Technical Illustration were my interest to fund the passions of outdoors. Of all the illustrations and drawings Iām most proud of the ones I made for the Smithsonian and NASA.
The eighties saw recession and I headed for the US Navy for a career of twenty years sailing the Atlantic, Southern America and the Mediterranean. Sixty four liberty ports and many Countries later I retired and settled into the automotive industry where I once drafted engineering drawings for FORD, GM, Dodge and Chrysler.
The US Navy has some of the best Photographers in the world and I had some really good mentors so continuing on in retirement with this was easy. Travel has enabled me to see wonderful places and share them with you. Thank you for coming along and if you see something you like let me know.
